Roanoke, VA’s St. Patrick’s Day parade dates back  many years

When:

The Roanoke Freedom First St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Shamrock Festival should be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, starting at 1a am. See the parade's website here for the latest updates.

Where:

The Parade will start on Jefferson Street at Elm Avenue, continues to Campbell Avenue and ends at Williamson Road.

Freedom First St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Shamrock Festival. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is rain or shine on Saturday.
Freedom First Shamrock Festival is from 10:00am - 5:00pm
Live music, adult beverages, and more! Admission is FREE and begins at 10:00am in the Plaza behind the City Market Building.

What to bring

If it is a cold day, bring a warm hat, warm gloves, and warm shoes. For a sunny day, you’ll want to bring sunglasses, suntan lotion, and a hat. The parade goes on rain, shine or snow. And of course, it is traditional to be dressed in GREEN (or orange or white – colors of the Irish flag)!

Transportation and Parking

Mass transit is a great way to get in and out to see the parade.
